Grade 5 · HR 5A3
I am most proud of my cross-curriculum project about Yellowstone National Park. Through this project, I gained a multidisciplinary understanding of environmental science and ecological conservation. I learned how extreme climates and geothermal landscapes shape unique biological adaptations, such as the fire-dependent lodgepole pine and the winter survival tactics of local predators. Furthermore, by analyzing real-world challenges like invasive lake trout disrupting the food web and the infrastructure strain caused by overtourism, I developed a practical awareness of modern park management and problem-solving. Ultimately, the project allowed me to apply my knowledge and skills gained after many years with IGS.
